aplegate is a 5-piece band based in Castlemaine and Naarm/Melbourne, drawing inspiration from psychedelic rock, jazz and the experimental jam band scene. Live performances manifest as a continual fluid set, equally at home in a bush doof or a packed club. aplegate’s live improvisation, interwoven with arrangements melodic and moving, draws its energy from the audience.

Sadly, @ellenjamesmusic is unable to play at our @thetotehotel residency show #2 tomorrow arvo. But because it’s Spike’s birthday, the music gods have blessed us all and Sascha Müller is jumping in to save the day.

Sascha pairs honest and thoughtful lyrics with folk inflected rock guitar chords. Experimental tunings create her warm and wintery songs that mark boundless curiosity. Happy and sad, hopeful and then dark and twisted.
